Probation South West XL Project

The XL Project is managed by the Avon and Somerset Probation Area and funded by the European Social Fund. It is running in five probation areas in the South West of England until June 2008 and aims to help anyone leaving prison or on probation to access education, training or work. In particular it will focus on removing barriers to employment by using funds for course fees, providing transport for those living in remote areas & providing assistance with childcare. We will also provide specialist support for women, black and ethnic minority persons, prolific offenders and those with learning disabilities. Reducing Re-offending Partnership South West

Reducing Re-offending Partnership South West (RRPSW) promotes partnership working to reduce re-offending across the region. The partnership will work closely with agencies and organisations in the statutory, private and voluntary and community sectors. Local Criminal Justice Boards

The work of the Criminal Justice System agencies is co-ordinated at a local level by 42 Local Criminal Justice Boards (LCJBs) across England and Wales. These boards bring together the chief officers of the CJS agencies to co-ordinate activity and share responsibility for delivering criminal justice in their areas.
